To earn your cocktail-making stripes, you'll need to know how to make a sugar (or gomme) syrup. It's seriously easy: using 2 parts of sugar to 1 part water, bring the water to the boil, dissolve the sugar in the boiling water, and once it's completely dissolved, allow the syrup to cool. That's it!
